The NFC technology is poised to become the eternal promise that never comes true. If months ago Sony launched its Smart Tag and LG the Tag + now is Samsung which launches TecTiles, some stickers that make up an NFC chip programmable inside and ... looking to break into the everyday use of your mobile phone (if you have NFC, of course)
Although the NFC has been associated mostly with the mobile payments, Samsung wants to give a twist and turn TecTiles in a fast and easy for users and companies interact through the NFC. The idea is to extend the operating environment of the NFC TecTiles placing these key places for people to do certain action such as check-in on Foursquare or update your Facebook profile just by bringing the phone.

The labels are flexible TecTiles can stick to any item or place so as to pass the phone to less than 5 cm prederminada triggers an action such as sending an e-presence, mute the phone or even more combined actions complex. This Las TecTiles have an app (available on Google Play) that allows the response action. Among the possible actions are
- Launch an application
- Change the phone configurations: volume, brightness, connectivity
- Connect to a specific WiFi network
- Display a message
- Open a map or direction given
- Open a web page
- Check in on Foursquare or Facebook
- "Like" on Facebook or update our status
- "Follow" on Twitter, or send a tweet directly
So far the Samsung NFC are the Nexus, SII Galaxy, the Galaxy and Galaxy Nexus SIII, but in theory the system should be compatible with TecTiles any smartphone that integrates NFC.
